Takiyah Jackson(link is external)(link is external) is Director of African American Student Development(link is external)(link is external), which offers programs and activities to facilitate the retention and graduation of African American students and to enhance their experiences at Berkeley. A graduate of UCLA, she also holds a Master’s in Education and Counseling from Seattle Pacific University and is nationally board certified in counseling. While at UCLA, she played on the women’s basketball team that won the Pac-10 championship and competed in the NCAA tournament’s “Elite Eight” in 1999. She has won special recognition for her advocacy and support of Black student athletes(link is external)(link is external) at Berkeley.
