Laura McCreery is a former researcher in residence, now visiting scholar, at ISSI who uses oral history methods to study California politics, government, and public policy. In addition to local and regional issues such as transportation, water policy, and land use, her interviews span all three branches of state government, including an oral history of Governor Gray Davis (sealed) and oral histories of nine justices of the California Supreme Court(link is external)(link is external). Her oral history of Chief Justice Ronald M. George, Chief: the Quest for Justice in California(link is external)(link is external), was named a California Book Award(link is external)(link is external) winner by the Commonwealth Club for 2013. She serves as oral history adviser for BLAC and assists with research, writing, and editing.
