Gia White(link is external)(link is external) is administrative director of Global, International and Area Studies(link is external)(link is external). She holds a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Berkeley and, since joining the Berkeley staff in 1989, has devoted most of her career to management within the evolving arena of International and Area Studies. She is the author of As I Walk These Paths(link is external)(link is external), an essay honoring Black women pioneers that is featured in the Office of the Chancellor’s online exhibit: 150 Years of Women at Berkeley(link is external)(link is external). She regularly leads Black history tours in the East Bay and is at work on a related series of podcasts
