Bio/CV:

Filmore Thomas, IV is a second-year law student at the University of California, Berkeley, driven by a passion for social justice and a commitment to empowering marginalized communities. Hailing from Macon, Georgia, Filmore graduated from the historically Black Fort Valley State University with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. He then started his career as a Data Science Engineer at Apple in Austin, Texas. While his work in tech was fulfilling, Filmore sought a path where he could leverage his skills to create more direct and lasting change. This led him to pursue a legal education at Berkeley Law, where he is now focused on advocating for those whose voices have been historically silenced. As a BLAC Co-Grad Student Coordinator, Fillmore is responsible for helping coordinate BLAC initiatives across all of BLAC’s teams.
